Information about grade four events

Grade four qualifier - on selected grade five events the winner and runner-up will be automatically offered a place in a forthcoming grade four event. Details available on entry forms and through the event referee.

Grade four - these include a mixture of county and regional tournaments. Usually suitable for players with a rating in divisions eight and upwards.

Information about grade five events

These are county or club level events that count for both LTA ratings and rankings. Usually one or two days long and you will play a minimum of two matches. Usually aimed at players with ratings predominantly in divisions nine and eight.

Information about grade six events

These are county or club level competitions that count for LTA Ratings only. They run throughout the year across the country and offer a number of different age group / rating level events. You will play a minimum of two matches. Usually aimed at players with ratings in divisions ten and nine. Some match plays will be available for divisions eight plus.

Information about Mini Tennis events

Mini Tennis Red - the first stage of competition. This is very important for building skills and confidence in a FUN environment. Primarily four to eight years on a smaller sized court (12m x 6m). Using gentle low bouncing mini red balls, either an 8cm sponge ball or red outdoor ball, which is larger than a normal tennis ball.

Mini Tennis Orange - competition played on a 3/4 length court. Normally eight years upwards depending on ability and the age at which a child started to play. Fun competition with an element of scoring. Using mini orange tennis balls, tennis ball size, softer and lighter than a normal tennis ball.

Mini Tennis Green - this is the final stage before players move to full tennis. Using the Mini Green ball, slightly lower bouncing than a normal tennis ball.
